The Caribbean, Considered: Five Islands Beyond the Brochure

The Caribbean is too often treated as one place. It isn\’t. There are 30+ distinct nations and territories, each with their own pace, food, language, and weather pattern. Here are five that we send sophisticated travelers to — and why.

1. St. Barths — Quietly French, Quietly Expensive

5. Antigua — 365 Beaches, One a Day

The local saying holds up. Antigua is the easy choice for couples or families who want classic Caribbean beauty without the crowd density. Strong English-speaking infrastructure, great resorts, and quick flights from the East Coast.
